Aruna 5K!

So today, I joined some of my fellow Miami Cru staff to help out at the annual Aruna 5k run on the University of Cincinnati's campus. Although it was cold and rainy, nearly 300 runners came out (raising over $20,000) to support the foundation which works to bring an end to human trafficking in South Asia. It was such a privilege to get to help out (even in the seemingly insignificant role of pointing in the direction runners were supposed to go and repeating the phrase "nice job guys" over and over again) and to witness the coming together of hundreds of college students for a cause that is, sadly, often way too easy to forget about. I'm grateful that God, in His mercy, is moving the hearts of students to be a voice for the voiceless- to use their resources, minds, and finances to bring about change for the oppressed while also trusting Jesus to soften the hearts of the oppressors. So. Today, I am praying that God would continue to raise up laborers who will support this cause and that He would open our eyes to other ways that we can bring light to some of the incredibly dark places in the world. Will you join me?
